Lawrence B. Mundy, Jr. – 94, of North Reading and formerly of Revere, passed away at his home on Monday, March 31, 2025.
Born in Medford, MA on April 20,1930. He was the son of the late Lawrence B. Mundy, Sr. and Charlotte (Russell) Mundy. He was raised and attended school in Revere. He was a graduate of Revere High School and Butera School of Art in Boston.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict; he was a Corporal and served from 1951 to 1953.
Lawrence was an Electronic Technician for Brandeis University for many years. He was a jack of all trades as well as an incredible artist. He loved history and was fascinated by the American Civil War. He always stepped up to do what was right with integrity and had a strong sense of responsibility.
He enjoyed painting, Irish music, he was a Civil War Buff and interested in Military History. His nickname was “Lefty” and was a pitcher in Semi pro baseball. He has been a resident of North Reading for the past 54 years.
Family members include his loving wife of 62 years, Rosary (Avola) Mundy; his sons, Lawrence James Mundy and his wife Jill, James Mundy, Daniel Mundy and his wife Sherri and William Mundy; daughters, Susan Mundy and Catherine Mundy; brothers, John Mundy and the late Paul Mundy; sisters, Anne (Mundy) Destefano and the late Charlotte (Mundy) Diaz; 4 grandchildren, Jodie Banks, Victoria Wellman, Sophia Brace Mundy and Raquel Brace Mundy; 2 great grandchildren, Jackson Banks and Lucian Wellman.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. www.croswellfuneralhome.com
