Irene “Sissy” (D’Ambrosio) Fullilove – age 95, passed away in Andover on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 of natural causes.
Born in Cambridge, MA on November 29, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Maurice and Sylvia (Sousa) D’Ambrosio. She was a graduate of Somerville High School. In her younger years she loved to rollerskate.
Besides being a loving mother, aunt, nana and great-nana, she worked as a diet-aide and cook at the Daniels Nursing Home in Reading. Irene was always a care giver. She loved to help out her niece Phyllis with babysitting, cooking and cleaning. Irene was known for her delicious Portuguese and Italian cooking, especially soups such as her Kale Soup.
She leaves her loving niece Phyllis Dalby, who was like a daughter and her husband Clive; her granddaughter Suzanne Dalby Holland, great granddaughters, Charlotte and Vivian; her son William Fullilove, Jr. and his wife; she also leaves her nephews Gary Smith and his wife Wendy, Jason Smith Julian Dalby. She was predeceased by her siblings, Filomena Smith, Silvia Zaccardi, Bob D’Ambrosio and Moe D’Ambrosio.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 12:30 PM at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
