  3. My Mother in law was an amazing woman. When i was married at 18 and had my son Jason I had no idea how to be a wife or mother. She took me in and taught me everything she knew. I didn’t know how to do anything. She was a Mother to me, not just a Mother in law. She was a loving and caring woman to her children, grandchildren, and her 3 great granddaughters. Her family was her life. Family was always first. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for one of us. She always had the family over on Sunday’s for her delicious Italian cooking, and Holiday meals. I have way to many memories to list and even though my marriage didn’t work out she still treated me like family. Phyllis was a wonderful woman and I will miss her tremendously.
I love you Phyllis RIP with Smitty.. .

  4. I was so incredibly blessed to have Filomena as my Nana for 47 years. I was very close to her and loved spending time with her and Smitty as much as possible. She doted on Suzanne and I when we were young. She taught me so very much in life including how to cook the most amazing Italian foods. Nana was one tough cookie with a heart of gold. Love you Nana Rest in Peace.

  6. Phyllis and all of the Smith family,

This is Frances Stanuchenski of 17 Redmond Ave. I just found out about your Mom and am so sad. I do believe she is last of the OLD timers on Redmond Ave. to go to God. There are a few others there but they are not the originals like your family and my family was. I’m so sorry to hear she has left you all. I do remember one day when I was driving home on Redmond Ave. I saw a pair of legs in the Big snow bank by the mail box. It was your mom….she had fallen getting the mail and all you could see were her legs sticking out of the snow…..I jumped out of the car and picked her up and tried to bring her into her house but she wouldn’t let me take her….she said she was fine and shuffled along and went into the house after saying thank you! I’ll never forget that day. There are so many good memories of Mr. and Mrs. Smith over the years. I’m sure you all have many tool. Once again….so sorry to see our parents go but ……..!!!
